Messages

After I hit send, what happens to my message?
From the moment you send your message through Lyme, all steps it passes will be recorded in the log file. First, your recipient will be notified by email that he/she has a new message. Following the link in that email, he/she will visit a page on our website where two choices are presented: to accept the message and consequently read its content, or to reject it and never get to access it. Either case, you and the recipient get a log file with all the information of all the actions taken. This log is as valid as a regular and traditional mailing proof.
What formally validates the reception of the message sent by Lyme?
What formally validates the message is the moment the user clicks the "accept" button. This means that the recipient has received the content of the message and considers it delivered. The entire procedure is recorded in the log of the message transmission, which we call "log".
Can I send a registered message to someone that doesn′t have an account on Lyme?
You can. When you send a message through Lyme, the recipient will receive an email notification.
This email will carry an invitation to join Lyme and to experiment all the advantages that a Lyme account can give him. But this email will also carry a pin code that allows the receiver that doesn′t want to register to open the message without an account.
Remember to add “logyourmessage.com“ domain to your trusted addresses list so you don’t miss any of our messages.
Can I send a registered message through my normal email like Gmail, Apple Mail or Outlook?
You can.
1. On your email application insert this email address [email protected] as the recipient of the message.
2. Write directly in the body of the text the email of the recipient to whom you want to send your registered message (if you want to send the message to several people, separate the addresses with a comma,, or a semicolon (;)).
3. After the e-mail address, enter a cardinal (#) that will be used to identify your message text.
4. After writing the message, send it normally. If you are successful, you will receive a confirmation email.
If there is a failure, you will receive an email indicating the error. Pay special attention to whether the recipients' emails are correct and confirm the successful email if everyone has received the message.

Example:
[email protected]; [email protected] # Text of the message.
Can I refuse the reception of a message sent through Lyme?
Yes. When you receive notification that you have an unread message in your inbox, you have the option to accept or reject the message. In either case you will receive, as well as the sender of the message, a copy of the log.
Will a rejected message be logged?
Yes. All actions of the sender or the recipient about a message are recorded and unchanged.
Oops… I rejected a message but after, I changed my mind. Can I still accept it?
Yes. After rejecting a message, the user has a day until the original expiration date to accept the message.
I received a delayed opening message. Will I be notified when it becomes available?
Yes, of course.
We send email notifications at all the crucial moments an action takes place in order to remind you of your messages.
If the receiver ignores a message, what happens?
If the receiver ignores a message, as it has an expiration date, the message will be considered ignored and consequently deleted from his inbox.
At the same time, the log file with that information will be sent to the sender.
What is a verified company?
Some of the Lyme message senders have a blue background on the border with their name and email address. This indicates that the company is verified and as such has successfully completed the identification process by the Lyme team for the confirmation and veracity of their Data and contacts.
How much time does the receiver have to take action over a message?
The message expiration date appears on the first line of the message actions panel.
By default the message expires 10 days after being available to the receiver.
However, this date can be changed by the user on the profile page and can fluctuate between 1 and 45 days.

Folders and message actions

How can I organize my messages?
You can organize your messages in the archive or in custom folders.
Please be advised that only messages on their final stage (approved, rejected or ignored) can be moved.
How can I create a folder to move my messages to?
In order to create a folder, on the main menu select "folders" and choose the last option "new folder" on the drop down menu.
Name it whatever you want and press "enter" on your keyboard.
How do I move a message to a folder or to the archive?
First, make sure that the message is on its final stage (approved, rejected or ignored).
On the messages list, click on the message you want to move and when the panel opens, select the desired folder on the "move to" dropdown menu.
Can I delete a message from Lyme?
Yes, as long as the final action has already been taken. That is, the only messages you can't delete are the pending ones.
What happens to the deleted message?
The eliminated messages go to the "deleted" folder.
Those messages will only be permanantly deleted at the end of the archive subscription period.
Anyway, the notifications for the expiration of these messages and their attachments are no longer sent to your email.

Logs and time stamps

Why is the log file in English?
Because we've adopted English as our official language. English is an Universal language and, as such, is understood anywhere in the world. Lyme is a global service and it made sense to us to adopt a language that could be understood by everyone.
What kind of information will the log issued by Lyme contain?
The log contains the registry of all the moments that the sender or receiver had action over a message. Since the first click to the deletion of the message.
That registry contaisn the date and hour that the action occurs and the specifications of the action itself.
What is a time stamp?
A time stamp is a chronological validation process that attests the date and time of a certain action.
Why is there a time stamp and is it on an attached file?
The time stamps on Lyme prove the immutability of the log file.
The time stamps ensure the file hasn't changed since the moment the log was concluded.
For that reason the time stamp is a separe file, it's the only way to assure the log file is immutable.
How can I make sure that the log issued by Lyme will have legal effects?
It will depend on your country laws.
But with Lyme, you will be always able to prove that the message you sent to someone was accepted by him before the recipient can open it.
And, in most countries, what you need to prove is exactly that. That the recipient has received something you sent, and confirmed by his hand that he received it.
Can I print or download the log?
Yes, you can. At any time, you can access the message page in the menu sent or received within your account and click on "Download message and logs". If the message has already been accepted, rejected or ignored at that time, the downloaded log will contain the legally required time stamp.
For how long will the log be available on my account?
On Lyme we believe that important messages as the ones you certainly register with our platform, don't belong on an inbox or an archive on the platform.
After the transition end, it should be stored on your computer permanently.
That way we only store closed messages logs from 6 up to 48 months depending on your subscription.
How do I know the printed log hasn′t been tampered with?
The log has an unique link and pin that can be used to download the log and time stamp associated with that message.
How can I check the veracity of a time stamp?
To check the veracity of a time stamp just follow this link. When you arrrive at the verification page, upload the log you want to check. This file should be something like "Lyme-xxxxxxxxxx". Also, copy the DIGITAL TSA TOKEN that is on the time stamp certificate and paste it on the designated text area. This file has the same name as the first, followed by "-timestamp".

Annual subscriptions

How do the annual subscriptions work?
If you need to send a simple registered message once in a while, you will probably not need a subscription.
However, if you need some more features, like adding attachments, sending your messages to more than one receiver at a time, or others, it will probably be better for you to buy a subscription.
As the LymeStamps, all the subscriptions have one year of validity.
Subscribing one of our plans gets you LymeStamps.
Please take a look at our plans here.
Can I upgrade my subscription?

Then, when you want, you can buy the subscription that you like again.

Business account

How do the business accounts work?
A business account allows you to share your LymeStamps with the company employees you’ve added to the account.
You will be able to manage user subscriptions, monthly LymeStamps consumption and limits and track all your users logs and messages.
Additionally, all the messages will be identified with the company signature, to give you a more professional service.
We have plans suitable for most companies but, if you need to add more users, choosing the Enterprise business plan will allow you to add more users manually.
How do the shared LymeStamps work?
You and your employees share all the LymeStamps you buy.
You can manage monthly limits for each one and give them extra monthly LymeStamps if they reach their limit or if they are predicting spending more stamps that month.
What happens if my employees buy LymeStamps?
As business account users, all LymeStamps your employees buy will be added to the shared LymeStamps.
However, that number of LymeStamps is added to their limit for the current month.
Can I limit the access to the shared LymeStamps?
Yes, on the “Manage users” page under each user there is an option “Change limit”.
There you can choose to limit or allow unlimited use of the LymeStamps.
If a user exceeds his monthly limit, what happens?
If a user exceeds his monthly LymeStamps limit, he can no longer send messages.
However, an administrator or a manager can assign him extra LymeStamps.
How do the extra LymeStamps work?
Extra LymeStamps are stamps that you allow a user to spend exceptionally that month.
They are added to their limit, but only for that month.
You can do this at any time or if they have reached their monthly limit.
The users themselves can request extra LymeStamps through the available LymeStamps panel on their profile pages.
Can I upgrade my business account?
Yes, like on the subscriptions, you can upgrade your business account at any time.
We’ll do the maths so that the proportional value of the months you have not use yet, be discounted to the cost of the new subscription.
And also as a subscription, you will have another year of validity.
How do I upgrade a business account?
Please go to your Business account page on the account menu on the top right of the screen.
Click on the “Business account type: (current). Upgrade?” button.
Choose the plan you want for your Business account.
Or if you prefer, you can also upgrade directly from the plans page.
What happens if I don’t renew my business account?
After a 30 days’ grace period, the administrator account will revert to a free one and all the Business users will be unlinked.
The shared LymeStamps remaining will be distributed among the administrators.
If in the 30 days’ grace period you renew your business account, your year validity will count from the expirations date and not from the day you confirm the renewal.
Can I close my Business Account?
Yes, you can.
On the business page, on reserved area, you have the option to close the account.
The shared LymeStamps that remain at the closing date are distributed by the administrators.

Business account users

How do I add or remove employees from my Business Account?
Login on Lyme.
From the account menu, on the top right of your screen, select “Business”.
Clicking on the “Manage users” menu will direct to your users' page where you are allowed to do multiple actions like adding or deleting users.
Can I add someone who already has an account?
Yes, you can. That person will receive a request to join you business account.
Agreeing, he will keep his subscription but all LymeStamps he has, as well as all he buys from there forward will go to the business account.
At the same time, he will only receive 5 free LymeStamps per year but always with time stamps.
Access to the invitations program is automatically cancelled.
How do I attribute subscriptions to my users?
From the account menu, on the top right of your screen, select “Business”.
Clicking on the “Manage users” menu will direct to your users page where you can attribute subscriptions individually.
You can assign an unassigned subscription to any user. If the user has already a paid subscription when you assign him a new one, then his previous subscription will be unassigned and available to be assigned to any other user.
Why should I hide the user email?
Sometimes you just don’t want someone to reply directly to one of your employees.
If you’ve established the proper channels on your own for people to contact you, hiding the sender email won't allow an uncontrolled flow of messages.
What are user permissions?
Every user has a set of permissions that defines what he can or cannot do on the business account.
You can change permissions on the “Manage users” page, on each user option panel.
What kind of permissions does a "User" have?
As the name suggests, a user can only receive and send registered messages.
What kind of permissions does a "Manager" have?
A Manager can, besides receiving and sending registered messages, add, remove and suspend other users, as well as manage their subscriptions and monthly LymeStamps limits.
What kind of permissions does an "Administrator" have?
An Administrator, besides having the same permissions as the other users, can edit the company information and has access to other users’ logs.
Can I see my users’ messages and logs?
If you are an administrator, yes you can.
Use the top right menu “logs” to see them all or access them by user on the user page.
What happens to the messages from a user that has been unliked or removed?
These messages are no longer accessible to the user but their logs will still be available for the administrators of the Business account.
And if the unlinked or removed user has messages to accept or reject?
Messages that weren't accepted or rejected because users are no longer in the Business account are automatically ignored because those users can no longer take action over the message.
How does the “Change password” button work?
Clicking on this button and confirming the action will force the chosen user to set a new password for his account.
What does “Remove user” mean?
By selecting remove user you will be asked if you wish to delete or to unlink that user.
Unlinking removes the user from the business account but keeps the Lyme account active independently.
Deleting, besides unlinking, deletes the user's Lyme account.
How does the unlinkment process work?
If a user ask to be unlinked, an administrator will receive a request to confirm it.
If within 10 days the administrator doesn't take any action, the user will automatically be unlinked from the Business account.
Either way, the user will again have full control of their account.
What does “Suspend” mean?
Suspending an account will deny access to Lyme to that user.
You can, at any given time, restore his or her access by clicking “Restore”.
